Monthly Steam Up

Steam up Sundays are on every 3rd Sunday each month at the track. Members are encouraged to come along and run their loco or traction engine, or just come along for a social meet up and natter. The cafe will be open selling drinks, cakes and snacks, and usually bacon rolls are served until lunchtime.

Evening Meetings

From 2026 there will be 4 evening meetings  each year on the 2nd Monday of each month. Meetings will be held in the Sports Club starting at 7.30pm. First meeting will be in March with the AGM and will be followed by general meetings (auction, bits and pieces, presentation etc) in April and May. Details of each meeting will be published in the newsletter. Tea and biscuits will be available at the break.

The 4th meeting is the Steam up and Social evening on the 2nd Monday in August at the track, starting early afternoon and finishing when the last person has had enough. The cafe will be open.

Whissendine Steam Weekend

The 2026 Steam Weekend will be held on 6th and 7th June. Trains will be running from 10am to 4.30pm both days and the events field will have miniature traction engines, steam lorries and classic vehicles as well as various stalls and model displays. The Ivanhoe model railway club will show layouts in the sports club. Free entry to everyone.

June 20th & 21st The 2026 LittleLEC will be held at the Peacock Railway, Nantwich, which is the home of the South Cheshire Model Engineering Society. They are planning to use their 1265ft dual gauge track for 3½" and 5" gauge locomotives, and the shorter 520ft multi-gauge track incorporating 2½” gauge rails will also be available for 2½” gauge locos. Closing date for entries is Wednesday 15th May 2026.
